Susie Elliott is an artist, painter and printmaker working between Fiji and New Zealand.
After growing up in Fiji, she spent 30 years away in New Zealand but returned to work on her creative practice.
Her landscapes and figures are an exploration of memories and ideas where recurrent themes are examinations of self, home/land and the diasporic condition.
She studied Fine Arts in New Zealand and is a self-taught painter who has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions and has been the recipient of art awards.
Susie states: “Every artwork I’ve made is often an attempt to address questions I don't hold the answers to. I feel that journey to self-discovery through the work is for me often what matters most rather than the arrival. But in finally arriving the pleasure I find is seeing how the work over time, stands on its own by being viewed through a prism of our individual responses to it. And there is something gratifying in that.”
