Susie Elliott is an artist working between Fiji and New Zealand. Born in Fiji she received a BFA from UCOL Whangnui in New Zealand in 2001 and has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions. Her works explores interior and exterior spaces which are based on her early memories of a Fijian childhood where the past and the ongoing present, collides.  Her use of colours in her paintings and drawings of landscapes, still lifes and figures reflect both a naturalistic and psychologic response to her subjects.

"Every artwork I’ve made is often a response to questions I don't hold the answers to. I feel that journey to self-discovery through the work is often what matters most rather than the arrival. But in finally arriving the pleasure I find is seeing how the work over time, stands on its own by being viewed through a prism of our individual responses to it.  And there is something gratifying in that."
